When Armsmaster met Skitter for the first time, he detected nothing but her admiration and desire to be a hero. Tattletale operates similarly, and we have precedence that Tattletale has already done that. The S9's trials keep wearing down their candidates' hearts and minds until they break, then Jack rebuilds them into his harem of monsters. Remember any other cape who does the same? Jack Slash. The heroes know that Tattletale's power is a thinker power that can find cracks in her target and exploit that weakness to defeat them or subvert them. I shook my head and walked up to a shovel I located near. Skitter really was one hell of a kind, wasn't she? The scary, mean her, picking up dogshit, Dean would giggle if he could hear it. Bitch shot me a sneer, then joined Skitter. Then she grabbed a shovel, and started picking up dogshit. "If you don't want to do this you can skip it out, but it will get you in Bitch's good books if you do it," Skitter told me. 'No, there won't be a problem,' or, 'No you are wrong, there will be a problem,' which one is it Bitch? Hey Bitch, there won't be a problem if my friend here touches a dog?" There were dogs most of which perked up with our arrival, dogfood, an eye-hurting white light above. I stood outside for a heartbeat, then followed them inside. Skitter didn't seem to be fazed at all though, and with a simple, "Sure," she stepped into the building after Bitch. "My people have been injured after that stripped naked freak came, they can't work good. Hellhound turned to us with a vicious grin on her face. It seemed we had came to a stop before a warehouse looking building, barking was coming from inside. Was Skitter a natural social genius? Was this how villains survived in their unforgiving environment? Or was this normal, and was I simply unable comprehend Skitter was a multifaceted person like everyone else just because she was a bad guy, girl? "Come," Bitch said, alongside stuff I didn't catch. Different from how she usually spoke calm without cutting words. R-Regardless, the manner she talked in was strange too, almost like how Bitch herself talked, curt but clear with a raised voice. It was eerily physical of her, and I was saying that as someone who saw her rest a knife on. Then getting punched in the body and taking it in stride. I had never heard of her, say, punching people, but there she was, dropping Bitch to the ground and choking her like a wrestler, not one of those scripted ones but like a real grappler. Skitter had a reputation of violence and horror from day one, that much was clear, but her scariness came from the dark, inhuman, hidden behind carpets of squirming bugs aesthetic she possessed. I had to say, while Hellh- Bitch was scary and erratic and unpredictable, it was, to say the least, interesting to see how Skitter interacted with her. Not that she seemed to mind, hell, she looked like she endorsed the name. "If that's all, we'll be going," Skitter told Hellhound, who was apparently called Bitch by her teammates. I might be strawmanning a little bit here, but I've totally had the exact argument with people before who supported aura theory and were adamant that the aura was entirely at fault for Amy's actions. it's absolutely some good old "she shouldn't have dressed/acted that way" victim blaming. It doesn't outright say it's all Victoria's fault but like. but aura theory, specifically, doesn't go "the aura is one factor among a dozen others but in the end Amy's actions are her own." Aura theory, specifically, tends to be "Glory Girl's aura is almost entirely responsible for the fact that Amy is in love with her sister, and since it's a master power it's totally responsible for Amy's response to being in love with her sister being to do what she did". Like don't get me wrong, I didn't list it in the first paragraph but I do in fact think the aura, compounded with everything else there, is a part of why Amy loves Victoria. Click to shrink. That's exactly what aura theory tends to be whenever it comes up, though.
